[3] 5) Read the following passage, then answer the questions:

People may be divided into two types: winners and losers. Winners are able to become responsible for their own lives. They don't blame others for their mistakes. They do their own thinking, they listen to others, evaluate what they say, and then they make up their minds. They may fail at times, yet they keep self-confidence. Winners overcome their bad experiences. They freely enjoy themselves but they can postpone it if duty calls.
Losers, on the other hand never leam to take responsibility for their own lives. There are many causes why people can become losers: disease, poor nutrition, cruelty, unhappy relationships and bad experiences. These can interfere with the normal progress toward becoming a winner. Losers usually feel anxious, unhappy and bored. They are afraid to new things and often repeat their own mistakes again and again and never try to change. A- Answer the following questions: 1- What determines the life of the winners? Mention at least two 2- What does the underlined word. answer the questions below:

I was standing outside an underground station in London waiting for a friend, when I saw two men. One was sitting on the pavement. His clothes were old and dirty. As people passed by, he said, "Can you give me some change, please? "A few people tossed some coins into the that but most people ignored him.
The other man was wearing a suit and holding a plastic petrol can. He told people his car had run out of petrol and he had forgotten his wallet. He asked them to lend him some money for petrol. Most people happily gave him money. He collected a lot of money. He put it in his pocket, but he did not got to the petrol station. It became clear to me that both men were beggars. The one in the dirty clothes needed money more than the one in the suit. But the one in the suit got much more money. Isn't that strange?

A- Answer the following questions:

 1- Why was the writer standing outside the station? 2- Which man collected the most money? 3- What does the underlined pronoun "it" refer to? B- Choose the correct answer from a, b, c or d: 4. "Most people ignored him" means people .......... a) shouted at him

D- The Novel (The Prisoner of Zenda) A. Answer the following questions: 1- Rose is a very persuasive person. Explain 2- Why did Sapt think that Duke Michael wouldn't kill the king? 3- What was the Duke's plan if the Castle was attacked by some people as Johann told Sapt and Rassendyll?
At the end of the novel, why did Rassendyll refuse to work for Sir Jacob? Read the following quotation, then answer the questions:

any invitation from him". 1- Who said these words and to whom? 2- Where was the addressed person supposed to do? 3- What game would be over if the person disappeared? C Find the mistake in each of the following and correct it: 1-Sapt was ordered to tell the Duke's men that the hunting lodge was empty! 2- Johann's brother Max Holf worked for Rassendyll.

E- Writing 8) Write a paragraph of about 100 words about:

Practicing activities at school is of great important. teachers should encourage their students to participate effectively in school activities. Such activities help students to learn some values like cooperation , respect for others, self confidence and perseverance. 

B. Translate into English:
1-اذا لم تتناول الغداء الصحي ، فاننا سوف نصاب بالأمراض وتفقد قدرتنا على اداء اعمالنا بشكل جيد.
مما لا شك فيه أن التلوث له اثاره الضارة على البيده من انسان وحيوان ونبات
